About Safe Haven
Safe Haven is true to it's name, it is a safe place for all types and breeds of dogs and horses. Our training has a set guideline but is tailored to each animals individual needs, using positive reinforcement. In our classes you and your dog/horse will learn valuable information that will last you a lifetime. As the trainer and owner, I am a certified in dog training, nutrition, and behavior. I have trained many different breeds, types, and behaviors, including service dogs! I also specialize in equine behavior and training. Although I work with many disciplines, I focus on jumpers and problem horses.
Meet Your Trainer
Hello! My name is Jaynie Kiel. I am the owner of Safe Haven Equine and Canine. I began the journey of opening this business about 5 years ago. My goal is to create a safe space for horses and dogs. I have been riding horses for 24 years and training for 17 years. I have owned dogs my whole life and have been training dogs for 18 years. I have many degrees and certifications in both the equine and the canine industries...
Before Your First Class
All dogs must have the following vaccines no less then 7 days in advance Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. All puppies must also be dewormed. YOU MUST ALSO HAVE PROOF. I also highly recommend all dogs be dewormed and have the Lepto and Canine Influenza vaccines.

Please bring with you: a collar with identification on it, a leash, and a bag of your puppies favorite snacks! (We recommend approximately 25 pea to quarter sized treats)
Locations
The class's main location will be the Psi Iota Xi pavillion which is located just past the skatepark in Clifty Park, at the end of Indiana Ave. There is a map on the contact us page. Classes will also meet in other locations including the Columbus Rural King, Petco, Mill Race Park, and Donner Park. The play times will be in some of these locations but mainly at the Columbus Dog Park, which will require a membership, and The Emmylou Wischmeier Dog Park.
